Stanislav Tolkachev

Over more than two decades, Tolkachev has developed a highly individual compositional approach that combines industrial and Detroit techno, atonal structures, algorithmic sequencing, modular synthesis and electroacoustic composition. While rooted in dance music, his work extends into experimental electronics, audiovisual performance and sound art. Since the early 2010s, he has maintained close ties with Berlin, regularly performing and collaborating within the city’s electronic music community long before relocating there permanently. Berlin has since become the base for his artistic and research practice. His music has been released on numerous internationally respected independent labels, including MORD, Semantica, Geophone, Subsist, Pohjola, IY,, Krill Music, and many others. Throughout his career, Tolkachev has performed extensively across Europe, North America and Asia, appearing at leading festivals, clubs and cultural institutions. Selected appearances include Dekmantel Festival, Festival Forte, Boiler Room x CXEMA, ADE (Amsterdam Dance Event), MUTEK, Unsound, Rewire, and numerous editions of Brutaz, Monument Festival, and other international events. His work has been featured and reviewed by leading music publications and platforms including Resident Advisor, The Wire, Groove Magazine, XLR8R, FACT Magazine, DJ Mag, Attack Magazine, and Electronic Beats. He has also been the subject of numerous interviews discussing composition, technology, modular synthesis and contemporary electronic music. Alongside his recording and performance career, Tolkachev develops projects involving modular synthesizers, custom sequencing systems, multichannel sound, audiovisual performance and interdisciplinary collaborations with contemporary artists and choreographers. He also lectures and conducts workshops on composition, sequencing and electronic music production. Today, Stanislav Tolkachev continues to perform internationally while expanding his practice across techno, experimental electronics, sound art and contemporary composition.
